WHO WE ARE.
True Life Youth Ministries is a Christian, non-profit organization ministering to the urban youth in our community. Our full-time and part-time staff, coupled with countless volunteers, are dedicated to giving young people the opportunity to become lifelong followers of Jesus Christ.
God has drawn our attention to the many kids in Lebanon whose lives are surrounded by instability. Poverty, the breakdown of families, and the influence of an ungodly society have removed the pillars of love, security and morality. Children are forced to adapt to their negative environments. They tend to think that their experiences are the norm. There are no quick fixes for the hurts of these young people.
However, True Life Youth Ministries is committed to making a lasting impact. The overriding objective of each facet of our ministry is to bring the hope of Jesus and lasting change to the youth of Lebanon. Experience has shown us that the best way to make a lasting impact in a person’s life is to build a quality relationship with them. The stability and security a child finds in these relationships establishes a fertile foundation for them to explore and accept a life changing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
A growing relationship with Jesus provides a child with the essential pillars of love, security, and acceptance that they can only find in God. Young people participating in True Life Youth Ministries programs are finding hope for today and a promise of eternal life. As they decide to follow Jesus, we have the opportunity to equip them to become spiritual leaders in their schools, in their families, and in their community as youth for Christ. That process fulfills our mission of building a community of young lives changed by Jesus Christ.
JERRY HIGLEY
Executive Director
Jerry Higley has been the Executive Director of True Life Youth Ministries since 1978. For over 4 decades he has had a front row seat watching young lives being changed by Jesus Christ. Jerry has been an adjunct professor at two Bible colleges helping to develop emerging ministry leaders. In recent years, to stay healthy and for the competition, Jerry has taken up running including 3 Boston Marathons. For an old guy he’s still fast!
NATE ARMSTRONG
Senior Director of Programming
Nate has been in youth ministry for over 10 years and is passionate about reaching the next generation for Christ. He loves to research youth trends and cultural influences shaping today’s youth. He is married to Brook and they have 3 daughters Everly, Selah, and Lacy. He loves to read, grill, boat and spend time with his family.
ASIA KUNARASA
Student Life Director
Asia Kunarasa is one of our Student Life Directors who plans and facilitates programming for our Elementary Program and also co-leads our Middle and High School programs. Asia is passionate about reaching our students with the Gospel by creating a family atmosphere where each student feels safe and valued. Asia is also gifted in music and uses her voice to lead our students in corporate worship. With a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Asia is passionate about using her training to provide one on one emotional support for our students.
AJAY KUNARASA
Student Life Director
Ajay Kunarasa is one of the Student Life directors at True Life. Ajay has served in youth ministry for over ten years, specializing in working with critically at-risk youth. Ajay has a Bachelor’s degree from Lancaster Bible College in Biblical Studies, Certificate in Ministry from Summit International School of Ministry. Ajay is married and has two children.
